Hello, thank you for your enquiry. One of the grey knobs is the float and the other is the automatic vent. These are used when the cassette is engaged with the toilet unit. Please find attached information from Thetford about using the toilet and cassette including cleaning. We also recommend regular lubrication of the main seal (under the blade on the round mechanism section) with a product such as INOX Food Grade Premium Machinery Grease.
