Stanthorpe 2018 Apple & Grape Festival

RV tour to Stanthorpe QLD

5 March 2018

Well here we are in Stanthorpe (again!), thanks to the attraction of the Stanthorpe Apple and Grape Festival.

Staying at the TOP PARKS “Top of the Town”. The park is rather full at the moment, so we ventured up towards the back of the park.
Grassy open sites complemented the feeling of Bush Camping one gets camped in amongst the trees and rocks, (this is Stanthorpe after all).
Birds and Bunnies abound, adding to the ambience of this Park.

The Festival kicked off with the Banchetto Italiano banquet to embrace the Italian heritage of the Stanthorpe region.

A packed crowd enjoyed a 4 course Italian banquet, wine, music, wine, dancing, more wine….

Then followed a week of festivities including a formal ball, food and wine exhibits, buskers, markets, musicals, rodeo, street parade, marching bands, street entertainers and open gardens.

You get a real feeling of community spirit during these events with many local organisations and groups working together to ensure its success.

Visits to Texas, Ballandean and Queen Mary falls near Killarney rounded out the week.

Till next time, stay safe out there.
